Georgetown:
William Cole Alford, 83, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Alford was born in the Sampit Community of Georgetown Co. on January 3, 1932, a son of the late William Capers Alford, Sr. and Lillie Idell Finklea Alford. He grew up in the Sampit Community of Georgetown County, graduated from Andrews High School, and served in the Marine Corps. Mr. Alford retired from International Paper Company as a Laboratory Technician after forty-four years employment there. He was a member of Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: his wife, Authurleen Hardwick Alford; a son, William Cole Alford, Jr.; two grandchildren, Abigal Russ and Hanna Grace Russ; two step-sons; six step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be two o'clock Thursday afternoon, December 10, 2015, at Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Marie Knuckles. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday, December 10, 2105, at Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall from one until two o'clock.
