Georgetown:
William Atmar Johnson, 66, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Johnson was born in Charleston on May 8, 1951, a son of the late Eugene Gaillard Johnson, Jr. and Mary Atmar Smith Johnson. He moved to Georgetown with his family as a child and he attended Georgetown schools. Mr. Johnson graduated from Porter-Gaud in Charleston and from the University of South Carolina.
Surviving are: a sister, Gertrude Johnson Owings (Palmer) of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Eugene Gaillard Johnson, III (Elizabeth) of Charleston; four nephews, Alfred Palmer Owings (Merritt) of Mt. Pleasant, Charles Capers Owings of Johns Island, Eugene Gaillard Johnson, IV (Ann) and Simons Ravenel Johnson (Lauren), both of Charleston; two nieces, Mary Atmar Bradly (Dan) of Mt. Pleasant and Elizabeth Simons Lucas Johnson of Charleston; and special companion, Patti Worley Pierce of Pawleys Island.
Graveside Funeral Services will Sunday afternoon, April 29, 2018, at three o'clock in Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Churchyard. Officiating will be The Rev. David Thurlow. There will be a reception in the Church Parish Hall following the service.
