Andrews:
William Douglas Bodiford, 92, husband of Helen Avant Bodiford, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Mr. Bodiford was born in Dillion on June 26, 1929, a son of the late Marvin Dudley Bodiford and Ruth Elizabeth Tisdale Bodiford.
Mr. Bodiford graduated from Williamsburg High School and attended the Citadel. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church and served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Past Master of Harper's Lodge #225, AFM and a member of Rosemary Chapter and Winyah Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. He was employed with the Federal Aviation Administration as an Electronic Technical Supervisor and Section Chief and retired after 34 years Mr. Bodiford served on the board of the Williamsburg Soil Conservative District as well as being active in the Williamsburg County Republican Party. He enjoyed farming, planting, mechanic work, riding motorcycles and piloting small planes. Doug and Helen had a long and happy marriage for over 70 years. He will surely be missed by Helen, the children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bodiford is predeceased by: two brothers, Edward Leroy Bodiford and Jack O. Bodiford; a son-in-law, Jerry Linwood "Lin" Fore, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Kathy Flowers Bodiford.
Surviving are; his wife of Andrews, two sons, Edward Aaron Bodiford, (Sherrel) and
Timothy A. Bodiford; one daughter, Melanie Bodiford Fore; one brother, Marvin Lamar Bodiford (Annette); Grandchildren, William Newton (Allison), Kelli M . Thomas, Jenny E. Bodiford, Warren F. Moore (Nicole), Jerry L. Fore, III (Leslie), Kelli N. Bodiford, Keri Fore Pope, Marvin D. Bodiford (Elizabeth), `Andrew Bodiford (Stephanie); Great-grandchildren, Tyler, Logan, Kylie Thomas, Zoey Pope, Ashlin and Jaxson Fore, Cole and Gray Bodiford, Amara Bodiford, Sheldon Moore, Eliza and Noah Newton, Brighton Owens, Lila Beth Bodiford and Josh and Dallas Ward.
Funeral services will be at two o'clock Friday, March 18, 2022, at Pine Crest Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Jack Mobley, the Rev. Geraldine Bednego, and the Rev. Chris Browder. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Oceda Community Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service in the sanctuary of Pine Crest Baptist Church from one until two o'clock.
