Murrells Inlet: William Joseph "Joe" Getz, 57, died Sunday, August 26, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Getz was born on October 26, 1954 in Barberton, Oh. and graduated from Barberton High School in 1973. He lettered in basketball and football during his high school years. Mr. Getz attended Hiram College and graduated in 1977. He was a fun-loving dad and a devoted father. Mr. Getz was predeceased by: his parents, Harold W. Getz and Ruth C. Getz. He is survived by: two sons, Joseph Edward Getz and Paul Baker Getz, both of Georgetown; a daughter, Katherine "Kay" Getz of Georgetown; three sisters, Patricia Gnap (Patrick), Janice Kallai (Charles), and Anita Hornacek (Lawrence), all of Ohio; two brothers, Jeffrey Getz (Abbie) and Daniel Getz (Karen), both of Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Memorial services will be at three o'clock on Sunday afternoon, September 9, 2012, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
