Georgetown:
William "Bill" Kerrell Hardee, 78, passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 at Tidelands Community Hospice.
Bill was born in Georgetown on September 7, 1936, a son of the late Earl Basil Hardee and Maggie Kennedy Hardee of Georgetown. He was reared, married, and raised his family in Georgetown. Bill was a graduate of Winyah High School and Emmanuel College. He was a gifted multi-sport athlete in High School earning All-State honors in baseball and a member of the Emmanuel College Basketball Hall of Fame. Bill was a lifelong member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a devoted Christian, husband, and father.
For more than 40 years, Bill ran his business following in his father's footsteps, building, remodeling, and painting homes. He spent little in marketing relying almost completely on referral business and the referrals came even into retirement.
Bill loved all sports, but none more that South Carolina Football. A lifelong Gamecock, on Saturdays during football season, he would either be in the stands, watching on TV, or listening to the radio while fishing in North Santee.
Survivors include: his wife of 52 years, Linda Jayroe Hardee of Georgetown; their two children, Craig Hardee (Beth) of Pelzer and Donna Noury (Steve) of Johns Creek, Ga.; four grandchildren, Jessica and Brooke Noury and Perrin and Cooper Hardee; a brother Robert "Smicky" Earl Hardee; a sister, Faye Porter (Bill); two nephews; and one niece.
Funeral services will be held eleven o'clock Wednesday morning, October 22, 2014, at Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be Pastor Greg Thompson. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
