Georgetown: William Michaux Jacobs, 74, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in Bishopville. Mr. Jacobs was born in Florence on Aril 5, 1933, a son of the late John Merriman Jacobs and Patricia Elizabeth Shaw Jacobs. He spent most of his life in Georgetown County and was retired from Daniel's Construction Company. Mr. Jacobs was a past member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church. In recent years, he made Ridgeville his home; however, he always longed to return to Georgetown and its waters. Mr. Jacobs was an avid fisherman. Family and friends will mourn his death. As one friend said, "Michaux was always an inspiration to others." Surviving are: a son, John William Jacobs of Pawleys Island; a daughter, Lana Rose Jacobs of Pawleys Island; two brothers, James Boatwright Jacobs of Pawleys Island and Charles "Doc' Jacobs of Anaheim, Calif.; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
