Georgetown:
William LeRoy "Roy" Neely, Sr., 86, widower of Claudia "Bootsie" White Neely, died Monday, June 16, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Neely was born in Georgetown on February 9, 1928, a son of the late Lee Neely and Dealie Lambert Neely. He grew up in Georgetown and lived all his life there. Mr. Neely owned and operated Roy Neely Construction Co. and later worked with his son's company, Corey Enterprises. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and farming.
Surviving are: a son, William L. Neely, Jr. (Carolyn) of Murrells Inlet; two daughters, Claudia N. Todd (Darrell) of Georgetown and Angela N. Davis of Florence; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Neely was predeceased by five sisters.
Graveside services will be held at ten o'clock on Thursday morning, June 19, 2014, at Elmwood Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrill.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, June 18, 2014, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from five until seven o'clock.
