William Donald “Bill” Norris, 68, born April 21, 1958, in Batavia, New York, passed away suddenly but peacefully at his home on September 17, 2026, with his beloved dog, Violet, by his side.

Bill was a loving and devoted husband and father whose family was always an important part of his life. He and his wife, Karen Leonardi-Norris, shared 38 years of marriage and a life filled with family, friendships, travel, and many treasured memories.

Throughout the years, Bill was a dedicated supporter of his sons and especially enjoyed their years playing hockey. He spent countless hours at practices, games, and rinks, and along the way formed many lasting friendships with other families who shared those years with them.

Bill spent his career in the automobile industry, where he held a variety of positions, including general manager and roles in finance and sales. His career allowed him to work with and get to know many people over the years.

An outdoorsman at heart, Bill loved both saltwater and freshwater fishing and had a special connection to the Gulf of Mexico. He was happiest in warm weather and enjoyed being outside, whether he was fishing, taking a walk along the beach, or simply enjoying the sunshine. He also loved traveling and vacationing with his family and friends.

Having grown up in upstate New York, Bill and Karen recently made Georgetown their home, moving to the area in December. Though his time in Georgetown was brief, it offered him the warm weather and coastal surroundings he so enjoyed.

In addition to his wife, Karen Leonardi-Norris, Bill is survived by his sons, Ryan William Norris and Spencer Anthony Norris; his mother, Dorothy Hitchcock Norris; his brother, Doug Norris; and his sister, Janet Norris Abbott and her husband, Tom.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Donald L. Norris, and his sister, Susan Norris.

A private memorial service will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester, New York.
