Johnsonville: W. Albert Parsons, 81, died Monday, May 14, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Parsons was born in Hemingway on February 27, 1926, a son of the late Ela Oliver Parsons and Sally AnnieSue Dennis Parsons, and moved to Andrews at a young age. Mr. Parsons worked with Public Savings Insurance Co., now American General, for a number of years until his retirement in 1991. He was first married to the late Rosa Corinne Barnes Parson, who died in 1999. Surviving are: his wife, Katie Powell Parsons of Johnsonville; two sons, Albert Ronald Parsons of Johnsonville and Wayne Edward Parson (Linda) of Andrews; two daughters, Patsy Parsons Morris (Jimmy) of Johnsonville and Catherine Parsons Cotton and (Charles) of Moncks Corner; three step-sons, Drexel Avant (Rhonda) of Lugoff, Glynis Avant (Lynn) of Hampton, and Kerris Avant (Joyce) of Johnsonville; two step-daughters, Veretha Avant Cribb (Gerald) of Johnsonville and Marsha Avant Hardwick (Danny) of Conway; two sisters, Frances Williams of Effingham and Annie Sue Martin of Ladson; twenty-three grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be four o'clock Wednesday afternoon, May 16, 2007, at Andrews Church of God in Andrews. Officiating will be Bishop Thomas W. Wallace, II and the Rev. Glenn Prosser.
