Georgetown: Dr. William Henry Rentz (Bill), 81 of Georgetown, SC went to join his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 24, 2022. Bill was born in Columbia, SC. He attended Dreher High School and the University of South Carolina. He then attended the Medical College of Virginia Dental School. In 1966 he joined the Air Force and practiced his first 2 years of Dentistry at Lackland Airforce Base in San Antonio, Texas. In 1968, he returned to Columbia where he practiced dentistry for 40 years. After retirement, Bill and Laura moved to Debordieu in Georgetown, SC where they have resided for the past 15 years. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Laura, his 5 children, Cindy Rentz Royson (Bobby), William Gordon Rentz (Shannon), Andrea Rentz Thurber (Scott), Ashley Hansen Partridge (Bo) and Amy Hansen Beall (Michael); His 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; his brothers Charles Wilson Rentz(Pat) and Ted Rentz. He was predeceased by his parents Charles Wilson Rentz and Carolyn McManus Rentz and his sister, Jane Busto. Bill was bigger than life. He loved his Lord, wife, children, family and friends with everything he had. Bill loved to entertain, go fishing and crabbing in the creek, playing cards and traveling with Laura. He lived every minute of life to the fullest. Bill enjoyed attending Gamecock football games and was a scholarship donor for 50 years. Everyone who knew him has a story to tell. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 30 at 11am at Georgetown Presbyterian church.
