William Earl Russ, 73, of Andrews, South Carolina died on May 12, 2024 at his home in Andrews.
Born December 6, 1950 in Andrews, South Carolina, he was the son of James Fred Russ (deceased) and Virginia Howard (deceased). He was preceded in death by Mary Townzen (sister) and Kenneth Townzen (brother-in-law).
Earl Russ was a fun loving, accepting, quick witted, simple living type of man with a great sense of humor. He loved working on his ever-expanding man cave, listening to music, hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles. Earl was a patriot and proud of his service in the US Army. His love of animals was evident with his horses Jake and Daisy along with a yard full of dogs, cats, ducks and chickens. He enjoyed doing it himself and working with his hands.
William Earl Russ is survived by his wife Deborah Russ of Andrews, SC; Children: Shane Russ of Cumming, GA, Derek Russ of Woodstock, GA, Amber Robertson of Redding, CA, Erin Patton of Aiken, SC, Kyle Russ of Niceville, FL and Casey "CE" Johnson Jr. of Andrews, SC; Grandchildren: Cameron Russ of Cumming, GA, Addison Robertson of Redding, CA and Dawson Hensley of Bells, TX ; Siblings: Wayne Russ of Port Charlotte FL, Paul Russ of Cleveland, TN, Cliff Russ of Hendersonville, TN and Libby Ethridge of Kingstree, SC; Many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and his best friend LJ "Buddy" Tilton II of Andrews, SC.
The family would like to extend special thanks for the loving support of Samantha Goins, Tommy & Stacy McTeer, Jimmy & MaryAnn Yates, Ed & Kat Mitchums, Mike Wilson, Pastor Steve Shinn and Pastor Jack Todd. A special thanks to the Fisher House in Charleston, SC for the accommodations and meals provided to the wife and visiting family members.
A private family led memorial service and a celebration of life for William Earl Russ will be held for family and close friends at the family home in Andrews, SC on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
