Georgetown: William Sanger Crawford, 79, died Wednesday, September 12, 2007. Mr. Crawford was born in New Haven, Conn. on July 25, 1928, a son of the late Alexander J. Crawford and Florence Sanger Crawford. He grew up in Hamden, Conn. and graduated from Quinnipiac University there. Mr. Crawford was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from the American Bureau of Shipping of New York City, N. Y. in June of 1991 and moved to Georgetown to live. He was a member of the Wedgefield Country Club in Georgetown and American Legion Post No. 556 in Chesterfield, Mo. Surviving are: his wife, Hilary O. Crawford of Georgetown; a son William B. (Denise) Crawford of Chesterfield, Mo.; a daughter, Holly C. (Corey) Skinner of Columbus, Oh.; and a granddaughter, Jacquelyn Skinner of Columbus, Oh. Memorial services will be three o'clock Monday afternoon, September 17, 2007 at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be Deacon Paul F. Mahefky.
