Obituary

Georgetown: Willie Chap "Bosco" Martin, III, 64, husband of Joetta Hamlin Martin, died Sunday, February 13, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Martin was born in Conway on December 19, 1957, son of the late Willie Chap Martin, Jr. and Ernestine Sessions Martin. Mr. Martin grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Winyah High School in 1976, and received an associate's degree in mechanics from Horry/Georgetown Technical College. He was past president of Big Bay Hunting Club, Kraft Road Hunting Club and a board member of Hangman Tree Hunting Club. His past employments were, Rodwell Pontiac Cadillac, International Paper Company, Wedgefield Plantation and DeBordieu Colony for twenty five years. Mr. Martin was an avid Hunter in every way. He never met a stranger, was a natural comedian, but most of all he was one of the most dependable and loyal person anyone could have ever known. Mr. Martin was known by everyone as "Bosco" but his family referred to him as "Bubba". In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was predeceased by: a niece, Mallorie Martin, and Uncle, Hoyt Martin (Hilda), a sister-in law, Georgia H. Vinson; and a cousin, Kyle Martin. Surviving are his wife of Georgetown, two sisters, Jerry Nell Martin of Georgetown and Donna Hall (David) of Conway; a brother, Michael Martin (Myrtie) of Georgetown; three sisters-in-law, Therese H. Owens (David) , Alice H. Cribb (Ray) and Clara Hamlin; nieces and nephews, Nicole Crosby, Madison Martin Belcher (Timothy), Ava Grace Hall, Kimberly Martin, Davy Owens (Josh), Alex Cribb (Kelsey) and Ashley Cribb (D. J.); great nieces and nephews; Bryson, Kensley, Canaan, Raylynn, Landon and Kassidy; a cousin, Kevin Martin (Debbie); special friends, Mike Wilson, Keith and Amber Smith and Donnie Young. Funeral Services will be three o'clock Saturday evening, February 19, 2022, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Mayer Funeral Home Georgetown Chapel from two until three o'clock. Attire: camouflage (optional). Mask optional.
