Andrews:
Willie E. Strong, 81, died Friday, April 22, 2005, at his residence in the Warsaw community of Williamsburg Co.
Mr. Strong was born in Andrews on September 7, 1923, a son of the late Ernest Strong and Lottie A. Morris Strong. He was a graduate of Andrews High School and served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Strong retired from International Paper Co. in 1985. He was a member of Harper Lodge #225, Ancient FreeMasons.
Surviving are: his wife, Juanita Fulton Strong of Andrews; two daughters, Nancy S. Stewart and Annette S. Winstead, both of Andrews; his step-mother, Dosson Cantley Strong of Andrews; a brother, Arthur D. Strong of Andrews; a sister, Creola S. Foster of Andrews; two half-brothers, Ernie Strong of Kingstree and Donnie Strong of Pawley's Island; two half-sisters, Irene S. McCants of Andrews and Robin S. Munnerlyn of Georgetown; two grandsons, Marcus B. Stewart of Houston, Tex. and Daniel H. Winstead of Andrews; a great-grandson, Jonas P. Stewart of Houston, Tex.; a number of nieces and nephews; and five wonderful sister-in-laws.
Mr. Strong was predeceased by two brothers, H. Melton Strong and James O. Strong.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Monday morning, April 25, 2005, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Donald P. Sapp. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon, April 24, 2005, from three until five.
