SAVANNAH, GA Winnie Hampton Harris, 90, died Thursday, October 25, 2012 under the care of Odyssey Hospice in Savannah, GA. Ms. Harris was born in Georgetown County, SC on August 29, 1922, the daughter of the late William D. and Ada Belle Benton Haselden. She was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church where she participated in the nursery department for many years, caring for multiple generations of children. Ms. Harris was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert M. Harris and son, William Hampton. She is survived by her children, Winston Haselden and Emily Feldman, both of Savannah, GA, Harry Hampton of Hardeeville, SC, Cynthia Wells of Bloomingdale, GA and Wayde Hampton of Savannah, GA; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family will be receiving friends this evening from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Andrews Memorial Cemetery in Andrews, SC under the direction of Mayer Funeral Home.
